2. A New Era: Nuclear Energy Transformation Bill, 2025
The government has proposed a comprehensive new law to revolutionize India's nuclear sector. The Nuclear Energy Transformation Bill, 2025 aims to repeal old laws like the Atomic Energy Act (1962) and the Civil Liability Act (2010).
1. Climate Goals: Achieve 100 GW nuclear power capacity by 2047 and Net-Zero emissions by 2070.
2. Private Sector: The bill encourages domestic industry and private sector participation in nuclear development.
