Important News and Articles: 24 December 2025

Welcome to your daily update. Today we discuss a critical WhatsApp security alert, explore the rich history of the Chishti Order, and look at new additions to the Indian Navy.

1. Cybersecurity Alert: What is 'GhostPairing'?

The Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In) has issued a high-priority advisory regarding a new WhatsApp threat called GhostPairing.

⚠️ The Threat: Hackers secretly link their own device to a victim’s WhatsApp account. This gives them full access (messages, media, contacts) without the victim noticing, and importantly, without needing a SIM swap or password.

How does the scam work?

  1. The Hook: You receive a message from a "trusted contact" saying “Hi, check this photo” with a link.
  2. The Trap: The link opens a fake Facebook-style viewer asking you to "verify" your identity.
  3. The Pairing: The victim is tricked into entering a pairing code, which unknowingly grants the hacker access via WhatsApp's "Linked Devices" feature.

2. History & Culture: Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti
